Key Differentiators

How Salesboom CRM Keeps Your Data Safe and Secure

Data security is a core pillar of the Salesboom platform. Salesboom invests in enterprise-grade security infrastructure that most individual businesses could not replicate on their own — and backs it with an industry-leading uptime guarantee.

128-Bit Encryption on All Data

Salesboom employs the same encryption technologies used in online banking — 128-bit encryption on every piece of customer data stored and transmitted through the platform.

Daily Backups and Off-Site Archives

Customer data is backed up nightly to a hot backup server, with weekly archives moved to off-site storage. An optional monthly automated backup delivery to your own records is also available.

24/7/365 System Monitoring

Salesboom and its ISP partners monitor all systems continuously — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year — with physical and network security maintained through major ISP data centers.

99.8% Uptime SLA — Guaranteed

Salesboom is the only on-demand CRM provider to include a Service Level Agreement guaranteeing 99.8% uptime with every single license. Current system status is publicly available at salesboom.com.

Comprehensive answers to every common question about Salesboom CRM — organized by topic so you can quickly find exactly what you need.

Editions and Pricing

Salesboom offers four editions: Solo Edition for individual users (1 user, sales automation only); Team Edition for small businesses (5–30 users, sales automation plus customer service and support); Professional Edition for medium to large enterprises (full front-office CRM plus select back-office functionality); and Enterprise Edition for large enterprises and SMBs requiring advanced features, all integrations, and extensive customization options. Note: all integrations and many advanced customizations require an Enterprise Edition license.

Yes — you can mix and match Professional and Enterprise Edition licenses within the same organization. However, mixing Team Edition or Solo Edition licenses with other editions is not supported. If you are scaling up, volume discounts are available at the time you add new users. Contact your sales representative for details.

Professional Services rates are competitively priced, and many customizations can be performed directly within Salesboom itself — eliminating the need for costly external development. Because each organization's needs differ, contact your Sales Representative or the Professional Services team for a tailored quote.

Integrations

Salesboom has performed hundreds of integrations for customers, including:
  • SAP R3
  • QuickBooks (out-of-the-box integration available)
  • Microsoft Accounting (Great Plains)
  • Microsoft Access Database
  • Microsoft Outlook (via the Salesboom Outlook Edition)
  • Any in-house or third-party software through the open Web Services API
If you have specific integration requirements beyond standard offerings, the Professional Services team can guide you through the process.

The Salesboom Microsoft Outlook Edition allows sales and support users to work within the familiar Outlook interface while accessing Salesboom's full CRM functionality. Users can send and receive emails, manage contacts and events in Outlook, and seamlessly copy information into Salesboom — including creating and managing cases. This bridges users who prefer Outlook with those who work directly in the Salesboom web interface, keeping all data synchronized across both environments.

Yes. Salesboom offers a native QuickBooks integration that works out of the box in most cases. For organizations with more complex accounting requirements, the Professional Services team can implement a tailored integration. Salesboom can also serve as a direct replacement for QuickBooks — contact Professional Services or your account manager to discuss your specific needs.

Yes. While Salesboom operates primarily as a multi-tenant, cloud-hosted platform — ensuring high reliability, scalability, and security — it is the only CRM SaaS vendor to offer an isolated tenancy model. This hybrid option allows certain users to operate on dedicated hardware while others remain on the shared system, giving enterprises maximum flexibility over their infrastructure.

Mobile and Offline Access

The Wireless Edition provides mobile access to your Salesboom data via the cell phone network, keeping data fully synchronized without needing a cradle or manual transfer. The application installs on your wireless device and stores all your data locally — so you can view and update records even when offline. Once a connection is re-established, all changes automatically sync to Salesboom. Note: Wireless Edition is available exclusively to Enterprise Edition users and carries an additional per-user cost.

Yes. The Salesboom Offline Edition extends Microsoft Outlook to give each user a local copy of their tasks, emails, events, notes, contacts, accounts, and opportunities on their desktop or laptop. When you reconnect to the internet, all notes and contacts made offline are automatically synchronized back to Salesboom. This is ideal for field reps, travelers, or teams in locations with unreliable connectivity. Note: Offline Edition is an additional cost per license and is not included in the free trial.

Security and Reliability

Salesboom employs the same security processes and technologies used in online banking, including:
  • 128-bit encryption (the highest available) on every piece of customer data
  • Daily backups to a hot backup server, with weekly off-site archiving
  • 24/7/365 system monitoring by Salesboom and its ISP partners
  • Physical and network security through data centers operated by major ISPs
Salesboom is the only on-demand CRM provider to include a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with every license, guaranteeing 99.8% uptime. Real-time system status is publicly available at salesboom.com.

Salesboom maintains multiple layers of redundancy and holds one of the best uptime records in the CRM industry. In the rare event of a disruption, the 99.8% uptime SLA — backed by every Salesboom license — provides both accountability and assurance. Current system status is always available publicly on the Salesboom website.

Salesboom backs up all customer data nightly to a hot backup server. Weekly backups are archived and moved to off-site storage for additional protection. Salesboom also offers an optional automated service that delivers a backup directly to you on a monthly basis for your own records. Contact your account manager to enable this feature.

Customization

Salesboom offers extensive customization across the platform, including:
  • Rename tabs and fields to match your business terminology
  • Re-order, add, or remove tabs as needed
  • Add custom data fields and build entirely new custom data objects
  • Create custom workflows and automation rules
  • Manage data security through Role Hierarchies, User Profiles, and Group-based sharing rules
  • Build customizable data views, reports, and analytics dashboards
  • Customize records and field-level settings
Many customizations can be completed directly within the Salesboom interface, saving time and reducing reliance on Professional Services.

Yes. Each user can set their personal currency preference, which applies to their individual opportunities and forecasts. This is managed under Control Panel → Personal Settings → Customize My Currency Display. Administrators can also set the organization-wide default currency from Control Panel → Organization Administration → Set Default Currency.

Yes. Salesboom supports renaming tabs and fields in any language, and many pre-built language configurations are already available within the platform. Multi-language support is not available during the free trial but is accessible under paid editions.

Yes. Salesboom allows you to choose from a set of pre-configured tax rates or create your own custom tax names and rates, deployable organization-wide in minutes. These can be edited or updated at any time with no disruption to ongoing operations.

Data Management and Migration

Salesboom offers a one-click Magic Migration feature specifically for users coming from Salesforce.com or ACT!. For other CRM platforms, Salesboom will import your exported data directly. Organizations with complex data export and import requirements should contact the Professional Services team for a guided migration plan tailored to their situation.

Users cannot be deleted from Salesboom, as their associated data and history remain valuable records within your system. Instead, you can disable a user's login credentials to prevent access while preserving their data as a reference. If transitioning to a new team member, you can repurpose the existing user account or create a new one and keep the original as a data placeholder. Note: adding new users generates an additional invoice per user, and licenses are retained until the contract expires.

Files larger than 500 megabytes cannot be sent via email through the Salesboom system. For large file transfers, it is recommended to use external file-sharing tools and include a link within your Salesboom email.

Yes. Salesboom's mail merge functionality works with Microsoft Word and OpenOffice. Using existing Word documents with Salesboom data field tags, the system automatically replaces each tag with the corresponding data from your selected records — producing a merged Word document ready for printing, including letters, labels, envelopes, and any other Word-compatible format.

Self-Service and E-Commerce

Yes. Salesboom includes a customer-facing self-service portal that organizations can provision directly through Salesboom.com. The portal supports self-service incident submission and management, real-time communication between customers and support teams, access to knowledge base articles and service history, and customer-facing order management and account oversight. The portal is fully branded to your organization and accessible from any device.

Yes. Salesboom offers multiple e-commerce options, including e-commerce functionality integrated directly into your website as well as e-commerce capabilities through the Salesboom Self-Service Portal. This allows customers to browse, order, and manage their accounts online without requiring direct sales team involvement — reducing overhead while expanding your sales reach.
